«...So nahm ich mir für meine Kunstarbeit die Schönheiten dieser Welt eine um die andere vor, sie mir zu eigen und für den Betrachter nachvollziehbar zu machen: die Erde, das Wasser, die Pflanzen, den sichtbaren Kosmos, das Innere des eigenen Körpers.»
Zu den Idiomen: «Ich wähle zum Beispiel eine Ähre, einen Schachtelhalm oder eine Grasrispe aus, immer nur eine Pflanze, tauche sie direkt in die wässerige Farbe und führe sie, in ständiger, wacher Beobachtung auf ihre Bewegungen reagierend, in konzentriertem Tanz über das weisse Blatt. So stellt sich die Pflanze selbst dar; ihre Spur oder Schrift oder – wie mein Serientitel lautet – ihr «Idiom» wird zum Bildinhalt.»

Beatrix Sitter-Liver (*1938 in Chur) lebt und arbeitet in Bern. Nach der Matura Besuch der Schule für Gestaltung in Bern (Malerei, Zeichnung, Druckgrafik) und der Universität Bern (Kunstgeschichte, Philosophie). Gleichzeitig arbeitet sie als Praktikantin in einem Atelier für Werbegrafik. Auslandaufenthalte in den USA, in Island, Malta, Deutschland und Paris.

"...Thus, for my art work, I took on the beauties of this world one by one, making them my own and comprehensible for the viewer: the earth, the water, the plants, the visible cosmos, the interior of one's own body."
On the idioms: "I choose, for example, an ear of corn, a horsetail or a grass panicle, only one plant at a time, dip it directly into the watery paint and lead it in concentrated dance across the white paper, constantly observing its movements. Thus the plant presents itself; its trace or writing or - as my series title reads - its "idiom" becomes the content of the picture.

Beatrix Sitter-Liver (*1938 in Chur) lives and works in Bern. After graduating from high school, he attended the School of Design in Bern (painting, drawing, printmaking) and the University of Bern (art history, philosophy). At the same time she worked as an intern in a studio for advertising graphics. Stays abroad in the USA, Iceland, Malta, Germany and Paris.
